We’re Committed to Keeping You Safe!

COVID-19

Effective March 27, 2020

Due to the contagious nature of the COVID-19 virus and in an effort to protect our associates and customers, Colony Tire Corporation will utilize the following steps for all vehicles that our technicians and associates are required to gain interior access to perform service.

  • Colony Tire service technicians will utilize single-use nitrile or latex gloves when accessing and performing work inside a customer’s vehicle.
  • Colony service technicians will limit their vehicle touch point contact to only those points necessary to safely perform their assigned task(s).
  • Prior to moving a vehicle Colony’s service technicians will wipe down the following areas of the customer’s vehicle with sanitizing wipes or other single materials and disinfecting products.
    • Exterior door handle
    • Grab bars – if present
    • Steering wheel
    • Ignition key
    • Gear shift
    • Other touchpoints if utilized
  • Upon completion of the service Colony’s technicians will wash their hands then use a new pair of nitrile or latex gloves when accessing the inside of the customer’s vehicle.
  • Once the vehicle is moved out of the service area and before returning it to the customer Colony personnel will wipe down the following areas of the customer’s vehicle with sanitizing wipes or other single materials and disinfecting products.
    • Gear shift
    • Ignition key
    • Steering wheel
    • Interior door handle
    • Buttons that were or may have been touched
    • Seat belt
    • Center console – if present
    • Grab bars – if present
    • Exterior door handles
    • Under the hood items that were touched if such service was required

If interior access is not required for service Colony technicians will ask the driver for information that is required for the invoice or work order.  These may include such things as vehicle numbers, mileage, etc.

If interior access is not required Colony technicians will only wipe down those areas that were touched by the technician and would be an area that a driver is likely to touch in the next 24 hours.  This means that parts not normally accessible such as brakes, bearings, lug nuts, stud, valve stems, and other items exposed to the environment would not be wiped following service.  Door handles and grab bars are examples of items that may be utilized by a service technician.
